This year Museion celebrates its tenth anniversary in its venue designed by the KSV architecture firm of Berlin. Over the last ten years Museion has remained resolutely switched ON: a vibrant, dynamic museum whose artistic initiatives match the originality of its venue.
The 2018 programme, presented 23/01/2018 in Rome, reflects the museum’s multifaced identity and the themes tackled over the years.
The season opens with BODY CHECK. Martin Kippenberger – Maria Lassnig, curated by Veit Loers, guest curator 2018. Ten years after presenting Martin Kippenberger’s work Zuerst die Füße in its opening exhibition in 2008, Museion has invited the German art historian Veit Loers to interpret Kippenberger’s art in a broader historical context. For the first time, the show forges a dialogue between the work of the German artist and another artist who is a leading presence on the contemporary art scene, Maria Lassnig.
There will be a rich programme of events around the actual anniversary in May.
