Perspectives on Italian Art

13/10/2018 – 24/03/2019
Opening: 12/10/2018, 19 h

The exhibition presents a broad selection of Italian art – painting and photography – created after 1950. The dialogue between the two collections – that of the Sammlung Goetz in Munich and that of Museion – highlights the main artistic currents that emerged in post-war Italy. The works in the show range from the deconstructions of the canvas enacted by artists like Lucio Fontana, Enrico Castellani and Dadamaino, to the conceptual photography of Luigi Ghirri and the work of Mario Schifano, whose paintings encompass reflections on contemporary media.
