Cuauhtémoc Medina – Looking Red

Artiparlando 2012, “Global Art – New Public” Cuauhtémoc Medina (Mexico City), “Looking Red” The critical role that can be played by art in a society dominated by violence, such as that of Mexico, is the focus of the lecture “Looking Red” by Cuahtémoc Medina on 22 March.
Art historian and curator, from 2002 to 2008 Medina was associate curator of Latin American Art at the Tate Modern in London. In 2009 he curated Teresa Margolles’ project for the Mexican pavilion at the Venice Biennale, and he is curatorial director of Manifesta 9, the art biennial that will be held this year in Genk (Limburg, Belgium).
