artiparlando 2012
Rudolf Stingel

14/06/2012 |  8 p.m

Artiparlando 2012 ends on 14th June with a discussion with Rudolf Stingel. Originally from Merano, the artist has lived and worked in New York for more than two decades, and his works have featured in the world’s top museums. The conference takes the form of a discussion with Gerhard Glüher (Faculty of Arts and Design, Free University of Bolzano) and Andreas Hapkemeyer (Museion). When it comes to understanding Stingel’s work, his “Instructions”, published in 1989, offer an introduction on how to produce his pieces, with the aim of overcoming the image of the inspired artist whose painting is led by intuition alone. In Stingel’s pieces, which explore the potential of painting today, visitors play an active role as co-producers. Depending on the speaker, the conferences will be held in Italian, German or English. Translations will not be provided.
