17/03, 12–18 h, Stefano Cagol – The Body of Energy
Stefano Cagol’s transnational project “The Body of Energy (of the mind)” funded by the German Foundation for Energy RWE Stiftung für Energie und Gesellschaft shows the intensive exchange of energy created by human interaction. The artist has traveled across Europe for six months, to various places where energy is produced like power stations, but also to museums, where cultural energy is generated. Energy is everywhere and a fundamental element in our existence, still it is invisible, non-material and intangible. Stefano Cagol’s project visualizes human interaction with an infra-red camera to make the invisible visible by giving the energy that is generated a shape.
The project started in Norway in 2014 and will make its last stop at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa on the 3rd of april 2015. Other stops have been the Folkwang Museum in Essen and the ZKM in Karlsruhe.
Pictures and videos of the project will be published in a book by Revolver Publishing Berlin, which will be presented at the opening of the Venice Biennale 2015 in May.
