Taking inspiration from the Korakrit Arunanondchai exhibition, Andreas Hapkemeyer illustrates the role of new media and globalisation in contemporary art.

The exhibition by digital native Korakrit Arunanondchai is rooted in the new media, yet also engages with European art history. Andreas Hapkemeyer takes this opportunity to reflect on the relationship between art and artistic techniques: video, film, lithograph, woodcut and panel painting have all contributed to shaping the history of art. And this naturally applies to the new media too, wich alter our perception of the world and reality.
