The new series on the media facade, entitled “Pas de deux”, is a duet between images and spund that creates a performance in public space.

In ballet, the pas de deux is a dance performed by two technically superior dancers, separate from the rest of the corps de ballet. The 2016 series of screenings on the media facade, from June to September, translates this concept into a special duet between images and music. The facade will show images from past video works by visual artists, in dialogue with new compositions, written for the occasion by contemporary composers and played live.
On Thursday 16 June the series, curated by Frida Carazzato, opens with the 1972 video work “Appendice per una supplica” by Ketty La Rocca, set to a piece by Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch entitled “Sumatra”. The video in question was one of the firts pieces of video art in Italy and the only one produced by the artist.

Before the screenings and concert (at 10 pm), at 9 pm there will be a talk between Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch, Frida Carazzato and Michelangelo Vasta (from the Ketty La Rocca archive)
Admission is free.
