“Don’t let this world harden you”

“The only way not to be crushed by the weight of this world is not to let it harden you, not to let it turn you into something you are not,” says one of Silvia Baccanti’s characters.
For this issue of Museion Bulletin, we invited the artist to create an illustration freely inspired by the theme The Softest Hard — the conceptual thread that runs through Museion’s 2025 exhibition programme and conceives of art as a form of non-violent urban resistance.
In times of pervasive international conflict, we believe it is important to recognise gentle radicalism as a force that fosters democracy, solidarity, emancipation and equality — in a society where art becomes a power for wellbeing and social responsibility.

Silvia Baccanti is a comic author and illustrator born in 1995 in Val Badia. She collaborates with the Ladin Cultural Institute Micurá de Rü; her illustrations have been published in renowned national magazines such as Internazionale.
