Story encounters

Massive steel bands rise into the space, sweeping into monumental curves and, in their vivid red hue, appearing like weightless lines suspended within Museion Passage. A hard, unyielding material becomes dance and drawing: what is heavy suddenly feels light, even as the tension in the curves hints at the effort required to bend such resistant metal. When, in life, do we manage to turn the impossible into the possible, defying the laws of nature? In the work of Eduard Habicher (Mals, 1956), we encounter not only a sculpture, but ourselves.
