International Museum Day (ICOM) celebrates the vital role of museums as dynamic spaces for cultural exchange, connection, and shared experiences. On this special occasion, admission is free throughout the day.

For this year’s edition, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the creative universe of Adam Harrison through his participatory work Painting Game. The Canadian artist transforms painting into a collective experience: a social game available in different formats, providing paints, brushes, and instruction cards designed to spark imagination and encourage open-ended creativity.

The result is a collaborative painting shaped by chance, intuition, and human interaction. Harrison’s work is rooted in a tradition that embraces play as a powerful artistic tool, from Dadaism and Surrealism to the Fluxus movement. Echoing figures such as George Brecht and George Maciunas—who, in the 1960s and ’70s, broke down the boundaries between art and everyday life—Harrison brings creativity back into a shared, accessible, and deeply relational dimension.

The day also offers a special program for children, featuring animated readings in Italian and German. Through a carefully curated selection of picture books, young visitors will be guided to explore their emotions and relate to others with renewed curiosity and sensitivity.

Throughout the day, Art Speakings will be available, along with short guided tours in Italian and German, offering visitors an even richer and more engaging experience.
