How can art and cultural institutions help bring visibility to experiences that often remain at the margins of public life? At the Piccolo Museion – Cubo Garutti, Museion presents a two-part project dedicated to the phenomenon of youth social withdrawal, fostering a dialogue between contemporary art, social work, and participatory practices.
Developed in collaboration with the association La Strada – Der Weg and its “Invisibili” project team, the initiative emerges from the intersection of contemporary art and social work. It is part of Museion’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the role of cultural institutions as spaces for listening, connection, and participation. Located in the Don Bosco neighbourhood, just a short walk from the headquarters of the “Invisibili” project, the Cubo Garutti becomes a place where individual experiences, community, and civic life can meet.
The first chapter, Dentro il Cubo (3 July – 16 August 2026), presents a selection of works created by young people involved in the “Invisibili” project during an art therapy programme led by Rita Mentzel. Drawings, paintings, and other visual works offer glimpses into personal experiences, imaginaries, and sensitivities that often remain outside the public sphere, opening up new possibilities for expression and connection.
Through this collaboration, Museion and La Strada – Der Weg seek to explore the role of art as a tool for listening and participation, creating opportunities to bring often unseen experiences into view and foster new forms of closeness and understanding.
