Museion Passage kicks off its 2026 program with a special tribute to Eduard Habicher, the internationally renowned sculptor from South Tyrol, who will celebrate his 70th birthday this year.

Habicher is best known for his large-scale sculptures created for public and private open spaces. For Museion Passage, he has conceived four monumental, site-specific works that engage in a close dialogue with the museum’s architecture.

Forged from industrial beams and stainless steel—later transformed by Habicher’s signature red hue—these sculptures transcend the heaviness of metal. With meticulous craftsmanship, the material bends and curves as if it were wax or rubber, unfolding in space like fluid lines or drawings suspended in mid-air.

A play of lightness and balance, movement and tension will animate Museion Passage, reflecting Habicher’s deep connection with the Alpine landscape and the industrial forms that have long inspired his artistic vocabulary. His iconic red line, a recurring motif in his work, cuts through space with precision and grace, symbolizing continuity and the way art carries cultural memory forward.

Save the date: the exhibition opens on 20.02.2026!
