Museion Statement on Recent Media Coverage

Museion is aware of the current media coverage regarding an event organized by CasaPound, which is connected to an external venue operated by the same management company that runs Café Museion.

Café Museion is operated by an independent service provider and is organizationally and programmatically clearly separate from Museion’s programme and activities. The collaboration is limited to gastronomic services within the framework of the café operations and selected events.

The operators of Museart have publicly responded to the matters mentioned in the article and have distanced themselves from the contents referred to therein. We take note of this statement.

As a public cultural institution, Museion understands itself as a place of open dialogue, mutual respect, and democratic values. In this context, it is important for us to clearly state that Museion and its entire team are in no way connected to the positions mentioned in the article and explicitly distance themselves from them.

Museion takes the situation and its institutional responsibility very seriously and is in direct exchange with the operators in order to carefully assess the circumstances and responsibly evaluate the future collaboration on this basis.
