Endless

Endless is the Christmas video by Swiss artist John Armleder, which will be lighting up the façade of Museion in December. Projections start during the Long Night of the museums of Bolzano, on the 7th of December, and will continue throughout the month (see full calendar below). Endless is part of John Armleder’s solo exhibition, currently on display at Museion. Considered the most influential Swiss artist of his generation, in a career spanning over fifty years Armleder has developed a work that breaks down the barriers between art and architecture, art and design, art and everyday objects. The video, created for Museion and shown for the first time in 2016, stems from the artist’s interest in Christmas and his imagination.

The spectacular “Christmas Parties” held by the artist every year at his home in Geneva with personalities from all over the world, have become rather famous. The video is accompanied by a music-remix by DJ Sid of the famous song Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Hugh Martin & Ralph Blane, written in 1943. In November, the media façade was lit up by the evocative geometries of “Ricerca uno”, the short film made by artist Dadamaino in 1961. The video is part of the exhibition Tutto, which presents over one hundred works by Italian artists from the Museion Collection and the Sammlung Goetz.
