In the context of the exhibition Little Movements II: Self-practice in Contemporary Art

The artist and director Josef Dabernig talks about his collaboration with Igor Zabel, the famous curator, art historian and cultural theorist born in Ljubljana and who died following a tragic accident at just forty-seven years old.

With his research, Zabel probed those social, cultural and political undercurrents that, in his opinion, could provide a better understanding of modern and contemporary art, as well as overcome the East-West duality. His cultural legacy is still of great inspiration to the younger generations.

In the meeting at Museion, Dabernig talks about the points of contact between his work and the famous curator, in particular on the occasion of the exhibition “Individual Systems”, curated by Zabel in 2003 as part of the 50th International Art Exhibition of the Biennale from Venice.

The meeting is a collateral event of the exhibition „Little Movements II. Self-practice in Contemporary Art” (opening: 06/28/2013, 7 pm)
