Free entry and themed dialogues

Contemporary art opens its doors once again: on Sunday 8 March for Women’s Day, entry to the Museion exhibitions is free for all ladies.

For the occasion, the “dialogues on art” are also female-oriented. The inspiration is given by the current exhibitions, which present two strong artists: Chiara Fumai, with a project around the German terrorist Ulrike Meinhof and Rossella Biscotti.

Starting from the positions of these two artists, the mediators present a small excursus into the work of other female artists exhibited at Museion in recent years – from key figures in recent art history such as Rosemarie Trockel, who with her “ knitted paintings” has established itself in a predominantly male art world, to the feminist commitment of a VALIE EXPORT, up to the research on plastic art of an Isa Genzken. There is also no shortage of positions from more recent generations, such as the Italians Tatiana Trouvè or Rä di Martino.
