OPEN

As an imposing signage, OPEN plays on the pop aesthetic of many advertising messages. As a code with a universal character, the writing opens up to different readings depending on the contexts in which it is installed. Activated to coincide with the tenth anniversary of Museion at the headquarters in Piazza Piero Siena, OPEN reflects the vocation of the museum: it is an invitation and at the same time a declaration of openness, understood as overcoming mental, but also political and geographical barriers.

OPEN was presented for the first time in the gardens of the Triennale di Milano (2015) and subsequently on the roof of Villa Croce, the contemporary art museum of Genoa (2017). At the end of the exhibition at Museion, the work will become part of the Museion collection as a long-term loan, within the corpus of light works.
