It could be defined as a flying museum, or art hanging by a thread, in the true sense of the word.

The cabins of the Val Senales glacier cable car are invaded by a dense network of black lines, which are inspired by the traces left by skiers on the snow-covered Alpine slopes in winter. The project is an extension of the artist’s exhibition “Konzeptmontage”, recently inaugurated at Museion. Here too Kostner has invaded the project room with a pattern of black lines, which are the insoles applied under the skis to facilitate descent.

A sculptural and assemblage intervention therefore, with which the artist proposes a vision of the snow-covered panorama, traced and in a certain sense “wounded” by the human passage, by the many skiers who cross it every day. Thanks to the collaboration with the Val Senales Glacier Cable Cars, supporters of the exhibition, the artist transported and then brought back this vision of the Alpine landscape from the closed museum to the mountains, to the places that this vision inspired.

The “artistic” cabins are inaugurated in a special morning-event, which combines passion for art and the mountains:

10.30

Meeting at the valley station of the Val Senales cable cars.

11.00

ascent to Grawand (3212 m) with reading during the journey by Robert Prosser (author of the exhibition catalogue).

11.15

artist talk (conversation with the artist) and aperitif on the glacier at the Hotel Grawand with Hubert Kostner, Frida Carazzato (curator of the exhibition) and Robert Prosser.

12.30

return to the valley – always with a reading by Robert Prosser along the way.
