The Provincial Council of Bolzano visits Museion
On Monday 15 April 2024 a special visit of the new Provincial Council took place at Museion, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Bolzano. Among those present were councillors Philipp Achammer, Daniel Alfreider, Peter Brunner, Christian Bianchi, Marco Galateo, Hubert Messner, Rosmarie Pamer and Luis Walcher.
For the President of Fondazione Museion, Marion Piffer Damiani, it was ‘an opportunity to present Museion’s cultural mission and its various tasks at the service of society’.
Museion Director Bart van der Heide spoke about the role of the museum institution according to the new guidelines of ICOM (International Council of Museums) as a place “open to the public, accessible and inclusive […] that promotes diversity and sustainability”, and presented Museion’s programme. The Director then guided the Board through the current exhibition RENAISSANCE, which presents artistic positions by emerging artists from South Tyrol and northern Italy.
