Ai Weiwei is one of the world’s most famous contemporary Chinese artists, and also one of the harshest critics of the regime in his home country. The young film director Alison Klayman followed him with her camera for three years, and the result is a multifaceted portrait of a man who uses art to fight for social and political change.
The film received the “Special Jury Prize” at the Sundance Film Festival and was in the “Official Selection” of the Berlin International Film Festival.
