Museion offers a special dialogue visit between art and science to the exhibition of the South Tyrolean artist Sonia Leimer, Space Junk.

Leading the way through the exhibition will be David Gruber, astrophysicist and director of the South Tyrolean Museum of Natural Sciences, in dialogue with Brita Köhler, head of public services and educational services at Museion. The dialogue between art and science will develop along the themes of the exhibition, which deals with space debris, i.e. those parts of satellites and space probes that fortuitously fall onto the earth’s surface.

In fact, for the artist Sonia Leimer, space debris is the starting point for an exploration of the present from different perspectives - a present shaped on the ideas of modernity and progress and which is now forced to confront visions of an uncertain future, in a state of permanent crisis. The circumstance of the global pandemic highlights once again the relevance of the questions highlighted by the artist.

The guide is in German and entry is free. The number of participants is limited; in order to guarantee a safe visit, booking is mandatory and the number of participants is limited. For reservations write to visitorservices@museion.it or call 0471 223413/15.
